Volunteer Leadership Network
Volunteering WA convenes the Volunteer Leadership Network (VLN) with representatives from different volunteering sectors. Members of the VLN can be invited to speak and present to your organisation or at your next event on topics related to the value of volunteers and volunteer management, as well as the strategic relationship between volunteers and organisations.
The Volunteer Leadership Network offer a limited number of speaking opportunities to Volunteering WA Members. If you would like to invite a VLN representative to speak at your next event, please submit the Training and Guest Speaker Request Form.
Sharing your leadership experience, and your desire to develop and enhance the volunteer sector, will also help you become a better leader.
To join the Network you’ll need to be a five year plus experienced volunteer manager and are able to attend a minimum of 6 meetings per year.
"The VLN is an ideal vehicle for contemporary and experienced volunteer managers to share ideas and knowledge to develop their own skills while passing the benefits of their experience to others"
"Being part of the network takes management skills to a new level"
"The network provides an excellent forum for testing ideas and learning from others’ expertise"
The Volunteer Leadership Network Mentoring Program supports the upskilling of volunteer managers by offering experience-based learning and advice.
The Program is available for all Volunteering WA members and strives to find the best mentor-mentee fit, supporting the skills and abilities of the individual, as well as their organisation’s volunteering goals.
All Volunteering WA mentors are volunteer management specialists and belong to the Volunteer Leadership Network.
Would you like to be mentored by a professional volunteer manager? This is a free service for Volunteering WA Members.
Volunteer Resource Centre network
Volunteer Resource Centres (VRC) provide a range of services to both volunteers and volunteer-involving-organisations. There are a number of VRCs and Volunteer Hubs across the State. They are the volunteering experts in your local community and there are many benefits to connect with them.
Find the location of your nearest VRC on our Volunteer Resource Centre page.
There are several University Hubs in Western Australia. They do not provide face-to-face referrals and generally provide volunteering opportunities just for their students. However, Volunteering WA encourages Volunteer Involving Organisations to develop partnerships with University Hubs.
- Curtin Volunteers! – Curtin University
- ECU Careers and Leadership Volunteer Hub – Joondalup and Mt Lawley Campuses
- Murdoch Volunteer Hub – Murdoch University Campus
- UWA Guild Volunteering – UWA University Campus (VWA managed)
The Volunteer Leadership Network members are available for speaking engagements on topics related to the value of volunteers and volunteer management, as well as the strategic relationship between volunteers and organisations. This service is generally free for Volunteering WA members.
