Speaker Expressions of Interest

Volunteering WA invites you to add your voice to 2025 Volunteering WA State Conference line up, by submitting an abstract to present on a topic or facilitate an interactive workshop.

The 2025 Volunteering WA State Conference theme, From Ideas to Impact, puts the focus on growth, action and impact. It's about moving beyond conceptualising volunteer programs and turning discussions into actionable initiatives that drive change.

Focus areas, include (but are not limited to): Bridging the gap between research and practice, practical implementation of ideas, creating actionable strategies, leading change in volunteer management, leveraging technology, innovative engagement strategies, building strong volunteer leadership, integrating volunteerism into organisational culture, collaboration with community partners, and designing for social impact.

Presentation formats

Duration: Sessions range from 10-minute 'lightning talks' to 90-minute workshops. Please select your preference in the Application form, and session durations will be confirmed once speakers have been selected and the program designed.

Streams: The Conference will be split into three concurrent streams, allowing the 200+ attendees to select sessions that most align with their role, gaps in knowledge, and upcoming priorities. A limited number of sessions will be presented as 'all delegate plenaries'.

Your Presentation must be designed around what attendees can learn from you and your experiences.

  • Presenters need to deliver presentations for the delegates (managers of volunteering programs, and Executives of volunteer-involving organisations).
  • You are welcome to use your/your organisation's story as the case study for your presentation, as long as you pair it with practical learnings, obvious takeaways, and recommendations for the attendees (for example: what was the catalyst for change, what went wrong, what worked well, if the experience was repeated what would you do differently, what is the impact on volunteers and volunteering programs).
  • Ultimately, consider what will the attendee learn from you, and be able to implement themselves?

Submit your presentation abstract

Volunteering WA welcomes expressions of interest from volunteers, volunteer management professionals, researchers, industry partners, corporates, government, peak bodies and other associations – anyone with a passion for enhancing the volunteering experience.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) close at 5:00pm on Monday, 30 June 2025.

Speaker abstracts will be reviewed by the Panel in July, and notified by the end of July of the outcome.

Speaker attendance: There is no ticket cost for presenters who will attend the Conference for 1-2 hours to deliver their presentation. For presenters who would like to attend the 2-day Conference as a delegate, you will receive a 50% discount on the standard ticket price.
