Top Legal Issues in Managing Volunteers

Justice Connect’s Not-for-profit Law program specialises in providing legal help and support to not-for-profit organisations. As a charity themself, they understand the issues organisations face and know just how time consuming and confusing complying with legal obligations can be.

This FREE 3-hour in depth, interactive workshop will explore the following topics, with small breakout sessions to workshop legal issues, discuss scenarios and problem solve as a group.

This workshop will look at:

  • Defining the volunteer relationship
  • Equal opportunity in volunteer recruitment
  • The ‘duty of care’ your organisation owes its volunteers
  • Work, health, and safety duties
  • Child safety requirements
  • Legal responsibility for the actions of volunteers
  • Risk management processes
  • Reviewing or ending the volunteer relationship
  • Top tips and additional resources

This is not a reoccurring workshop, and may not be offered again. Register early to avoid missing out.

If you are completing your Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Program, this workshop is worth 2 CPD points.

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
