National Volunteer Week Guide 2021

30/04/2021

National Volunteer Week 17 - 23 May 2021 (NVW) is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation's volunteers. Thousands of activities will be held across the country to say thank you to the 6 million Australians who volunteer their time. The week-long celebration will include social media campaigns, breakfasts, morning/afternoon teas, and luncheons, as well as open days, award ceremonies, picnics, forums and training sessions.

#WaveForVolunteers: Social Media Campaign

We are asking all VIOs, volunteer managers, leaders, and community members to put your hand up and thank all the volunteers around Australia by waving a special smile of appreciation during National Volunteer Week. The Wave Your Appreciation campaign is back to recognise the great work volunteers do each and every day.

Every smile is a thank you. Behind every wave of appreciation is a spirit of community and giving. Join us as we RECOGNISE, celebrate and thank volunteers for the vital?role they play in our lives this National Volunteer Week.

#WaveForVolunteers: During NVW, upload your wave photo to social media, tag @VolunteeringWA and share using #NVW2021 and #waveforvolunteers.

Special National Volunteer Week feature Community News - advertising bookings now open

Community News is once again producing a special newspaper feature recognising volunteering efforts, showcasing opportunities and acknowledging the generous contribution of the hundreds of thousands of volunteers in our State devoting their time to help others.

The feature, to be published week commencing 17 May 2021 will contain good news stories about volunteers in our community, as well as messages of thanks from local businesses.  This is a fantastic opportunity for local communities, government departments and organisations to thank current volunteers, invite new volunteers, present products and services, profile members and announce new projects.

Please see here for a flyer on advertising rates for our members and more information on how to book a space in this year’s National Volunteer Week feature.
