National Strategy for Volunteering Project Update

25/01/2022

To kick off 2022 we are delighted to announce that we have opened Expressions of Interest for two Working Groups: the Volunteer Management Working Group and the Corporate Volunteering Working Group.

It would be valuable to have Western Australian representation on the national working group. Applications now open.

The Volunteer Management Working Group will bring together volunteering professionals to discuss how the National Strategy for Volunteering can be informed by best-practice volunteer involvement. Volunteering Australia recognises there is considerable volunteer management and leadership experience throughout Australia, and we want to ensure this expertise is reflected in the National Strategy.

The Corporate Volunteering Working Group will be comprised of representatives from Australian companies with corporate volunteering programs. Corporate volunteering (also known as employee volunteering) provides a critical contribution to the community through the provision of vital surge capacity and professional skills. This Working Group will consider how the National Strategy for Volunteering can recognise and amplify the role of corporate volunteering in Australia.

More information on the purpose and scope of the Working Groups can be found on the Volunteering Australia website. Applications are open now, and close at 5pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 9 February 2022.

If you have questions about the Working Groups, please contact the Volunteering Australia team at nationalstrategy@volunteeringaustralia.org
