Homeless Connect Perth
The Homeless Connect Perth project provides a “one stop shop” of essential and ongoing services to homeless people or those at risk of homelessness. This annual initiative sponsored by the City of Perth and hosted by Volunteering WA connects Government, community, the business sector and volunteers to provide valuable support services to those of us experiencing homelessness.
Volunteering WA and the City of Perth have made the difficult decision not to proceed with Homeless Connect Perth 2021. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, it has been decided an event as large as Homeless Connect will be not feasible again this year. We want to make sure that vulnerable members of the community, including people experiencing homelessness, are safe during this time. Please see HCP Cancellation FAQs for more information.
The aim of Homeless Connect is to:
- Provide immediate provision of services on the day including accommodation assistance; counselling; legal advice; employment services; free GP, dental, podiatry and optometry services; budget/financial counselling; identification (Births/Deaths/Marriages); massage & skin treatments; free shop facility with food, clothing, and toiletries; personal hygiene (haircuts and showers); meal service; sporting and arts activities.
- Provide awareness of long term opportunities for guests
- Create a day of social connection and happiness
