  • From school breakfast clubs, to modelling healthy masculinity, to 70 years volunteering with the same organisation – 2026 WA Volunteer of the Year Award winners are making on-the-ground impact across our State.
  • Seven winners selected from 240 nominations, recognising inspiring volunteers, organisations, and managers.
  • The WA Volunteer of the Year Awards are hosted by Volunteering WA, the peak body for volunteering.

Volunteering isn’t just a nice thing to do; volunteering in Western Australia powers our State; it’s at the heart of community life and keeps community services running.

Seven incredible volunteers, volunteer-involving organisations, and managers were recognised for their contributions and named the 2026 WA Volunteer of the Year Award recipients on 14 May, in front of 300 of their peers ahead of National Volunteer Week (18-24 May).

In 2026, 21 Finalists were shortlisted from 240 nominations; with Winners announced alongside special addresses from His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia; and the Hon Hannah Beazley MLA Minister for Volunteering.

Tina Williams, Volunteering WA CEO, expressed her gratitude for all that volunteers give back to the WA community.

“With so much unrest and uncertainty in the world, volunteering keeps us grounded, allowing us to focus on what we can influence and where we can truly make a difference,” Williams said.

“Volunteering WA is proud to once again host the WA Volunteer of the Year Awards, celebrating the remarkable achievements of our 2026 recipients. Each of them exemplifies the powerful impact of kindness, in large and small ways.”

“This year’s winners show that meaningful change often begins close to home. Through their leadership, compassion and dedication, they transform the communities around them and inspire others to step forward and contribute.”
