New Pro Bono Legal Service for Volunteering WA Members

Volunteering WA is delighted to announce the official launch of our partnership with Hall & Wilcox. This partnership will provide members of Volunteering WA with access to pro bono legal assistance from Hall & Wilcox right across the state.

Hall & Wilcox will provide the following range of pro bono legal services to Volunteering WA’s members:

(i)            telephone legal advice on an ‘as needs’ basis (i.e. phone a friend service);

(ii)           high level issue identification and document review (i.e. triage service);  and

(iii)          written legal advice,

(iv)          in respect of commercial legal issues.

The Hall & Wilcox team have a wide range of areas of expertise. Hall & Wilcox is a national law firm of more than 700 people, including 85 partners, and offers expertise in most key areas of commercial practice and a number of industry areas. These areas include:

Hall & Wilcox run a coordinated pro bono practice that acknowledges the time spent by all staff on pro bono matters. Recognising that there is a compelling unmet need to assist with access to justice and unrepresented litigants in the Courts in our community, they encourage and give full credit for pro bono work to everyone at the firm.

Hall & Wilcox will be hosting a one hour workshop for Volunteering WA members on the topic of “Employee or Contractor or Volunteer? Getting the relationship right” on 31 October from 4pm followed by networking, drinks and canapes. To reserve your place, click here.

Requests for pro bono legal assistance must be referred through Volunteering WA and be approved by Hall & Wilcox. To access the service you will need to complete an application form.
