Homeless Connect Perth 2018 – Volunteers and donations sought
Your support will mean the world to someone in need.

Homeless Connect Perth is a one day, one-stop shop event that provides people in need with access to an extensive and critical range of services, access to healthcare and food staples. Now in its eleventh year, Homeless Connect Perth is the largest event in the state for the homeless, providing direct help to approximately 2,000 people in need.

With over 9,600 people experiencing homelessness every night in WA, the need for this event is stronger than ever, and depends on the incredible goodwill and community spirit of Western Australians.

In preparation for the 2018 Homeless Connect Perth event Volunteering WA is seeking donations of food, clothing and toiletries, as well as financial donations.

All donations will stock our free shop facility and we are particularly asking for new underwear and socks, toiletries and non-perishable food items, second-hand donations of men, women and children’s clothing, shoes and Manchester. A full wish list of goods can be found at https://homelessconnect.volunteeringwa.org.au/donations and we encourage you to follow Homeless Connect Perth on Facebook for donation and event updates.

There are several drop off points in Perth including the Volunteering WA office at 2 Delhi St West Perth and a warehouse located at 5/30 Adams Drive Welshpool which will be open each Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30-3pm from Tuesday 17 September to 2 November.

We are also calling for expressions of interest for volunteers. Last year we enlisted 200 volunteers to assist in the warehouse pre-event, with a further 250 volunteers assigned on the day to assist people to connect with service providers such as homelessness support agencies, dentists, doctors, optometrists, podiatrists, hairdressers and many more.

If you would like to volunteer for Homeless Connect Perth 2018, volunteer positions will be going live on September 24 at https://homelessconnect.volunteeringwa.org.au/volunteers
