Workshop 4: Engaging volunteers with disability

Prerequisite for participating in this session is to complete the online microlearning session: Becoming an Inclusive Volunteer Involving Organisation (VIO) - the link will be sent to you separate to registration.

In this two-hour session facilitated by Eleanor Ingram, we will cover:
• learn what the social model of disability and citizenhood is
• understand what is ableism?
• build awareness of inclusive language and attitudes
• workplace adjustments
• how to use a strengths-based approach
• develop accessible recruitment and induction strategies

Suitability: For all Volunteer Involving Organisations and their employees.
