*Free* Making your Website Accessible (Part 1)

Making your Website Accessible hosted by the Centre for Accessibility is designed to show you how people with disabilities engage with websites and social media content. This workshop includes hands-on experiences by using devices in a similar way to people with a disability.

It will also feature an overview of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and practical information on improving document accessibility for a variety of organisational roles, as well as policy and legislation related to the WCAG standard.

Suitability:

Suitable for all paid and volunteer roles within a volunteer involving organisation. This session will cover: 

  • How people with disability engage with your content: includes a hands-on exercise using a screen reader
  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) overview
  • Policy and legislation related to following the WCAG standard
