It is through these relationships that we extend our reach and impact in the wider community and mutually support capacity building across the sector and the State. We also rely on members to fulfil our representative function as the peak body; member feedback and participation informs our activities for advocating on their behalf and for the volunteering sector.<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to report a steady increase in membership over the year, despite very challenging conditions experienced by the sector during COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-286\" src=\"http:\/\/volunteeringwa.org.au.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Report_Graphic_02-1024x538.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"538\" srcset=\"http:\/\/volunteeringwa.org.au.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Report_Graphic_02-1024x538.png 1024w, http:\/\/volunteeringwa.org.au.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Report_Graphic_02-300x158.png 300w, http:\/\/volunteeringwa.org.au.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Report_Graphic_02-768x403.png 768w, http:\/\/volunteeringwa.org.au.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Report_Graphic_02.png 1480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Annual Member Survey <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our annual member survey help us to understand and respond to our members\u2019 needs and priorities<strong>. <\/strong>This year we received a 41% response rate responses from our not-for-profit financial members.<\/p>\n<p>The survey identified that the most important services we offer are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assistance with volunteering related queries, resources and access to our volunteer recruitment database<\/li>\n<li>Member discounts<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with grants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most important peak body activities are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community education and promotion of volunteering<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of national standards<\/li>\n<li>Support for research into innovative and good practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The top challenges faced by our members are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of skilled staff for volunteer management or support<\/li>\n<li>Insufficient funding<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty attracting volunteers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">96% of members are satisfied with services provided<\/h4>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cExtremely grateful for the support, fantastic staff and services you provide\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cStaff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cThe training and development opportunities are excellent\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cSkilled volunteering has been fantastic\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Source VWA member survey Nov 2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Find out more about Volunteering WA membership <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volunteeringwa.org.au\/membership\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Volunteering WA is committed to providing tangible value to our community of over 725 member organisations, directly supporting over 184,000 volunteers and representing over 600,000 volunteers throughout WA.
