2013 Western Australian Volunteering Awards
The Western Australian Volunteer of the Year Awards program is committed to acknowledging the remarkable endeavours of Western Australian volunteers. These prestigous awards promote the value and important contribution of volunteering to the social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being of Western Australia and pay tribute to those who inspire and promote the spirit of volunteerism through their endeavours.
Award nominations cover seven categories.
The Award recipients were announced by His Excellency The Governor of Western Australia Malcolm McCusker AO CVO QC at the National Volunteer Week Gala Awards Presentation Dinner on Wednesday 15 May 2013 in the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Perth Hotel.

The awards are presented in seven categories:
- Western Australian Volunteer of the Year Award
Recognises a Western Australian who through their voluntary undertakings epitomises the spirit of volunteering and makes an exemplary contribution to the betterment of the well-being of Western Australia and its people.
The recipient receives a cash donation to further their professional, personal or voluntary endeavours and a stylish commemorative statue.

- Western Australian Youth Volunteer of the Year Award
Acknowledges a young Western Australian aged 18 to 30 years who through their volunteering endeavours has brought about positive change to their own life and to the lives of others and/or the environment.
The recipient receives a cash donation to further their professional, personal or voluntary endeavours and a stylish commemorative statue.

- Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering Award
Honours an exceptional and inspirational lifelong contribution to volunteering.
The recipient receives a stylish commemorative statue.

- Excellence in Volunteer Management Award
Acknowledges excellence in volunteer leadership and management of a volunteer program by a salaried or non-salaried volunteer practitioner.
The recipient receives a stylish commemorative statue.

- Western Australian Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award
Recognises an employer who leads and excels in a best practice corporate volunteering program to benefit the Western Australian community.
The recipient receives a stylish commemorative statue.

- Western Australian Community Volunteer of the Year Award
Recognises a Western Australian volunteer involving organisation that provides innovative leadership and through best practice in volunteering brings about positive and enduring change to their community.
The recipient receives a cash donation to further their professional, personal or voluntary endeavours and a stylish commemorative statue.
