International Volunteer Managers Day - November 5

International Volunteer Managers Day logoIVMD is a day to set aside for recognition of the important role that Volunteer Managers and Coordinators play in running successful volunteer programs. Volunteering WA are hosting a training workshop this Friday (6 November) to celebrate International Volunteer Managers Day. The guest speaker is Arron Jackson from Edith Cowan University who will be presenting the following -

Understanding you then me
“Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood” - Stephen R. Covey

This principle is especially true when taking into consideration the rate of change that we all face in our lives today. With the shifting sands of society’s norms and morphing of expectations in a number of work and life roles, we need to take a deep breath and see the direction in which each one of us is coming from. Understanding Interaction Styles will help you connect with people on a different level you may have not thought possible.

Getting your wicked way

Persuasion is a beautiful thing… when you are the one persuading. This part of the session will develop your ability to connect with an audience and seep into the mind of your listener. Those who may have been reluctant to take instruction in the past might not be so reluctant in the future. It isn’t a Jedi Mind Trick, but it works.
