VRC Joondalup

The Volunteer Resource Centre (VRC) Joondalup supports volunteers looking for positions in the Joondalup community, and supports organisations to follow best practice guidelines in volunteer management.  The Centre is a partnership between Volunteering WA and the City of Joondalup.

The VRC Joondalup is located at the Joondalup Public Library, corner of Lakeside Drive and Boas Avenue, Joondalup.  The Centre is open on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Information on volunteering can also be accessed during business hours via the phone on 1800 678 114, or 24 hours per day via our website - www.volunteeringwa.org.au

Volunteer Support

The VRC Joondalup is open for phone and face-to-face volunteer referral appointments on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.  At the appointment, your details, skills and interests are entered into a database, matching you with up-to-date information on available volunteer positions.  You will be assisted to make an informed choice from the opportunities available, and if possible, an appointment will be made for you to meet with an appropriate person at the organisation.

The VRC Joondalup offers "Introduction to Volunteering" sessions once a month for people wanting to learn more about volunteering before committing to an actual position.  The sessions cover the rights and responsibilities of volunteers (as well as volunteer-involving organisations), insurance concers, and the various types of positions available in the Joondalup community.  The session lasts for an hour and includes plenty of time for questions.

Organisation Support

The VRC Joondalup also supports community organisations to follow best practice guidelines in volunteer management.  An increasing number of networking sessions and special events, hosted by Volunteering WA with support from the City of Joondalup, are held throughout the year.  Additionally, community organisations that become members of Volunteering WA are able to list volunteer positions through the VRC Joondalup.
